Abstract :
The bromine atom in a fullerene-mixed peroxide derivative is replaced by an alkoxyl group under visible light irradiation or in the presence of silver salt. Homolytic or heterolytic cleavage of the C60–Br bond is proposed to explain the mechanism. The presence of oxygen is also a key factor in the photolysis reaction.
