IMPROVING THE LOAD CAPACITY OF BALL BEARINGS

We describe a bearing race shape that reduces the contact stresses in ball bearings and therefore increases their load capacity with radial loading and with combined loading, including an alternating axial component. We present the results of the analysis and make recommendations for selecting the preferable geometric parameters of the working surfaces in accordance with the bearing assembly operating conditions and requirements.
