Abstract :
The absolute configuration of (−)-licochalcone E (1) was determined to be (S) via the first enantioselective total synthesis of the compound. The chirality in (S)-(−)-licochalcone E (1) was installed by asymmetric methylation of the Evansʹ oxazolidinone derivatives.
