Abstract :
A new Bronsted acid catalysed hydrogenation of imines with Hantzsch dihydropyridine as the hydrogen source has been developed. Diphenyl phosphate (DPP) and various other acids catalyse this first metal-free hydrogen transfer to give various amines under mild reaction conditions.
