Abstract :
The N-heterocyclic carbene-catalyzed hydroacylation of isatins with aldehydes has been described. This process offers a highly efficient and atom-ecomonical access to 3-acyloxy-1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-ones in good to excellent yields.
