Abstract :
The dynamics of the rotor of an aircraft gas-turbine engine with short squeeze film bearing dampers is analyzed. A technique for linearizing the hydrodynamic forces in the dampers with allovmnce for turbulization and rupture of the lubricant film is presented. The derived expressions are used for calculating the dynamics of a rotor with nonlinear support characteristics by the method of successive approximations. The three-support rotor of an aircraft gas-turbine engine with two damped supports is calculated.
