Abstract :
Various enantiomerically pure -hydroxy esters were synthesized by asymmetric hydrogenation of alpha-keto esters catalyzed by Ru-Cn-Tunephos complex. Up to 97.1% ee has been achieved for both -aryl and -alkyl substituted -keto esters.
