Abstract :
We describe the first preparation of the hitherto unknown (beta)-ethoxy-(alpha)-fluoro-(alpha)-(phenylselanyl)ethenes and the successful Lewis acid catalyzed (alpha)-fluoroformylalkenylation of non-enolizable aldehyde acetals to provide (alpha),(beta)-unsaturated aldehydes or acetals exclusively.
