Abstract :
A simple and mild method for decarboxylative bromination of (alpha),(beta)-unsaturated carboxylic acids has been developed using Dess-Martin Periodinane (DMP) in combination with tetraethylammonium bromide (TEAB) at room temperature. High yields of the corresponding bromoalkenes were obtained.
