Abstract :
Samarium diiodide on one hand, diphosphorus tetraiodide, and phosphorus triiodide on the other, react with vinyl cyclopropane epoxides to produce either allylic alcohols or vinylcyclopropanes resulting from cyclopropane ring-opening or deoxygenation of the epoxide, respectively.
