Abstract :
The ortho-lithiation of N-Boc protected 3-aminofuran was investigated. Directed lithiation followed by quenching with an appropriate electrophile led to new 2,3disubstituted furans. Halogenated compounds obtained by this methodology represent useful intermediates for subsequent cross-coupling reactions.
