Abstract :
An efficient and direct procedure for the synthesis of amidoalkyl naphthols has been described that employs a three-component condensation reaction in one pot using aromatic aldehydes, (beta)-naphthol and ureas or amides in the presence of p-toluene sulfonic acid in 1,2-dichloroethane at room temperature or under solvent-free conditions at elevated temperature.
