Abstract :
An easy oxidation of dihydroxyimidazolidine derivatives to nitronyl nitroxide radicals (NNRs) can be achieved using the tetra-N-propylamonium perruthenate/Nmethylmorpholine N-oxide (TPAP/NMO) system. The procedure offers several advantages in terms of simplicity, yield, cost and ‘green’ chemistry.
