Multi-parametric water quality monitoring approach according to the WFD application in Evros trans-boundary river basin: priority pollutants Original Research Article

The aim of this paper is to elaborate strategies, methodologies and techniques for integrated water resource management within the philosophy of the EC Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC) for the trans-boundary river basin of Evros which is shared by two EU (Greece, Bulgaria) and an EU-candidate country (Turkey). With the recent comer EU Member States the number of trans-boundary rivers has increased, therefore, management scheme development for trans-boundary rivers gained more importance to implement WFD 2000/60/EC.
