Abstract :
A novel polystyrene-supported (alpha)-seleno acetate has been developed. This novel resin was treated with LDA to produce a se:selenium-stabilized carbanion, which reacted with aldehydes, followed by selenoxide syn-elimination to give (beta)-keto esters.
