Abstract :
The multioperation technology of wrench manufacture which includes labor-intensive machining operations accompanied by irrational consumption of expansive metals converted into chips, is replaced by a technology based on the manufacture of shaped blanks by the method of hydraulic forging. The wrenches are made by locally heating and bending the blanks in a special device and subjecting them subsequently to thermal treatment. Pilot lots of wrenches were manufactured, and their improved service properties were confirmed by long-term exploitation.
