Abstract
Despite many advantages that technology can offer to education, there are warnings in misinterpreting the roles that it can play. The present study tries to investigate this phenomenon in four high schools named intelligent schools by the Iranian ministry of education. Although the study has a focus on English teaching in such schools, exploring a CALL program, the findings and discussions may be relevant to other fields. Through observing the schools and obtaining the teachers and the students’ ideas (four teachers and one hundred students participated in the study), this study tries to show that without paying attention to preconditions for implementing a technology-based educational program, we may waste our money and time.
