  • Abstract
    The current research is intended to study the relationship of subscales of perceived parenting style, perfectionism and psychological problems and compare them for male and female students. The sample consisted of 160 students (80 Females and 80 Males) from Mazandaran University students who were selected by stratified cluster sampling and questionnaire of perceived parenting Weber (Weber), Frost perfectionism (MPS-FROST) and finally questionnaire of psychological problems (SCL-90-R) were completed. The results showed that gender differences existed in father style sub-scale was statistically significant in none of the five subscale of perceived parenting practices, gender difference in the six variable sub-scales of Perfectionism was significant only in the discipline and organization, and gender difference in none of the discipline and organization, and gender difference in none of the nine sub-scales of psychological problems were statistically significant. Also, the relationship between variables in multivariable regression analysis showed a significant positive correlation between psychological problems and some subscales of perfectionism, such as parental expectations subscale and psychological problems(B=0.153, P=0.049), and a significant negative correlation between psychological problems and some subscales of perfectionism, such as order and organization subscale and psychological problems (B= -0.218, P=0.007).
