Abstract
The paper is an attempt to explore the relationship between multiple intelligences, learning behavior and English learning. Our sample comprised 50 English major students in Tehran University. All took an English Proficiency Test and filled out a series of questionnaires dealing with their multiple intelligences and learning behavior, including motivation, attitude, belief, anxiety, and strategy use and preferred learning styles. Findings show that students’ instrumental orientation, attitude, motivational intensity, anxiety and kinesthetic learning styles affect their English performance, and some linkages do exist between students’ multiple intelligences and their learning behavior. It’s suggested that teachers be aware of the broad understanding of individual differences and students be encouraged to take control of their learning and maximize their potential for success.
