Study of the variations of the electron density at 170 km Original Research Article

This paper presents a study of the electron density at 170 km (N170) based on profile inversion of ionosonde data from stations located in a wide latitudinal range of both hemispheres. Daytime electron density profiles derived from inverted ionograms are used to analyze the diumal, seasonal, latitudinal and solar activity variations of the parameter. Additional analysis of the parameter using data obtained by other techniques are suggested in order to confirm these results.
