Abstract :
This talk describes some of the results obtained with the Submillimeter Wave Astronomy Satellite, SWAS, in its first one and a half years of operations. During this epoch, the satellite carried out observations on comets, planets, stars, the Galactic Center, and a variety of interstellar regions, at five different spectral frequencies, to study the physics and chemistry of water vapor H216O, and its isotopomer H218O, warm isotopic carbon monoxide, atomic carbon and molecular oxygen in these sources.
