Track parallelisation in GEANT detector simulations Original Research Article

Track parallelisation of GEANT-based detector simulations, worked out for a parallel computer, is described. Its implementation in a T9000 based TN310 computer (16 processors) is explained in detail. With the help of the shower tracking example Gexam 1 we show that the speedup obtained is satisfactory for high energies and enough initial particles. Load balancing policies are discussed.
