Abstract
The Moose or RD41 project aimed to study the viability of the object oriented software approach for reconstruction code for the LHC experiments. Methods, languages, tools, persistence and project management were the areas to be studied. The project has come to its end and many of the ideas have been accepted within the ATLAS and CMS experiment and can be found in the Computing Technical Proposals which were submitted in December last year. This paper summarises our experiences and more detailed information will be given in other papers presented at this conference on the results from various parts of the project (see references in this paper).
