Abstract :
Experimental observations of morphological and chemical changes in superplastically deformed samples of Zn–22% Al alloy have been carried out. It has been shown that the superplastic deformation exerts a strong influence on the process of diffusional mass transfer. A conclusion has been made that the specific feature of the superplastic deformation—development of bands of the co-operative grain boundary sliding—may explain the mechanism of such an influence.
