The effect of elastic interactions between displacive transformations on textures in steels Original Research Article

The crystallographic texture of ferrite produced by transformation of textured austenite is affected by the nature of the transformation. Displacive transformation appears to favour certain of the crystallographically equivalent variants and so gives a stronger texture than purely diffusional transformation. Elastic interactions between transformation events, coupled with the presence of texture in the austenite, can explain this effect.
