Abstract :
The influence of nucleation on nucleus growth during primary static recrystallization is investigated with a statistical model of the textural evolution. An analysis of changing environments of the growing nuclei reveals that nucleation has a very strong influence on the growth of the nuclei. This effect impacts the annealing texture as much as the initial orientation distribution of the nuclei. The misorientation distribution of the nuclei and the deformed matrix governs the growth conditions of the nuclei and determines which parameters control growth of the nuclei. The nucleation mechanism selects this misorientation distribution. Effectively, the nucleation mechanisms determine the growth conditions.
