Abstract
Grain growth theories normally describe a grain using the concept of “grain radius”. However, this assumption bypasses all topological information relating to the grain, such as the number of its faces and edges. This study, by contrast, introduces a new methodology, treating normal grain growth in three dimensions in terms of both metrical and topological properties of the grains.
