Abstract :
The properties and metathesis activity of molybdena-alumina catalysts prepared by anchoring of MoO2(acac)2 complex were investigated and compared with the traditionally-impregnated molybdena-alumina systems. In the case of the anchored catalysts, XPS analysis indicates better dispersion of molybdenum species on alumina, compared to the impregnated ones, as well as the anchored catalysts are more active then the impregnated ones in propene metathesis. The last statement is also true for the catalysts treated with tetramethyltin.
