Abstract :
A novel type of surface variable, so-called individual quantities, has been introduced on the basis of dimensional analysis and the law of similarity. The parameters can be determined at least in one way. To make the parameters available, the algebraic uncertainty inherent in the individual representation (e.g. in Youngʹs equation) can be eliminated. Thus, when this approach is applied, the surface tension of the solid surface can be determined easily.
