Abstract
Based on fatigue damage mechanics, the computing time of time-dependent damage was defined with tension–compression strain rate and cycle period. A time-dependent fatigue damage model without hold-time was proposed based on the linear damage rule and fatigue tests at elevated temperature. The fatigue damage model at elevated temperature was divided into pure fatigue damage, damage caused by the time-dependent factors and interactive damage. The results of life prediction with the proposed damage model were within a factor of 2 for 2.25Cr–1Mo steel and 2.5 for 304 stainless steel under uniaxial and multiaxial loading at elevated temperature.
