Abstract :
Spolsky’s Language Policy is an attempt to outline a comprehensive and organized model for one of the recent trends in the field of language studies. His model of “language policy” is depicted through a triad of interwoven concepts namely, ‘language practices’, ‘language ideology and beliefs’, and ‘language management and planning’. Spolsky maintains that the interplay of, and also the distinctions made between, all these concepts are much needed steps to take if we are to appreciate language policy.
