Abstract :
A complex number method for synthesis of a planar five-bar motion and path generating (with prescribed timing) mechanism with variable topology for two finitely separated positions is suggested. The method is useful to reduce the solution space. The proposed method is non-iterative. The motion between two extreme positions is considered.
