Abstract
In this paper engineering drawing techniques are examined with a particular focus on the use of the modulus concept in design. Modulus concept here means a unit of measure based on experience and relation to key attributes from which all the design corresponds. This approach appears to be more familiar in architecture; however, less so in mechanical engineering. To illustrate this a historical review of the modulus concept is given and its applicability for todayʹs mechanical engineering practise is shown.
