Abstract
We present a study on the origin of the vibrational noise originating from pumped helium chambers (1 K pots) that are continuously replenished from a main bath at 4.2 K. The vibrations can be eliminated by thermalizing the helium, coming from the main bath, to the pot temperature. Vibrations in 1 K pots are a source of excess noise in cryogenic detectors and therefore have detrimental consequences on their performance.
