Encasing of the TVO-sensor for heavy duty installations Original Research Article

This paper presents the results of investigations on some carbon ceramic TVO resistance temperature sensors. To protect these sensors they were Stycast-potted in copper cans to obtain a very strong containment which secure the sensible parts of the sensors. This is the connection of the leads with the sensitive sensor element. A second advantage is an easily sensor mounting. But due to the potting the characteristics of the sensors has changed. Some investigations were done to find the value of the change.
