Effect of types of blank-holder surface on box part drawing

The main problems in the formation of large complicated parts are wrinkling and breakage of the metal in the die cavity. A proper and effective method of controlling the metal in the die cavity is realized by the blank-holder surface (BHS), a main technical factor in the formation of such parts. In this paper, the effect of the BHS on the drawing deformation of box parts is studied by experiment, and the strain distribution rule for a planar BHS, a spherical BHS and a cylindrical BHS is obtained.
