Abstract
In this paper the results of investigations of the manufacturing and properties of bearing materials produced by the recycling of aluminium and aluminium–bronze chips are presented. Bearing composites were produced by the cold compaction and hot extrusion (at 520°C) of comminuted and mixed aluminium and aluminium–bronze chips. The wear and the coefficient of friction of the composites produced were determined as a function of the percentage of the reinforcing phase (aluminium–bronze granulated chips) and the load applied by means of a pin-on-disc wear testing machine.
