An investigation of the abrasive and erosive wear of flame-sprayed coatings

In numerous applications, hard-surfacing alloys must possess fair resistance to the abrasive–erosive action of hard particles contained in the transported media. This paper presents results of abrasion and erosion tests on deposits produced from NiCrSiB alloys. Microstructural investigations and wear tests have demonstrated the applicability of the alloys tested for hard-facing and reclaiming components made of high-carbon steel.
