Abstract
The paper presents principles and mathematical modelling of a new method of shaping by electrochemical generating machining (ECGM). The method is based on application of universal tool electrode such as flat electrode, cylindrical segments electrode, etc. and numerical controlled envelope movement of the tool. A computer-aided engineering software has been developed for simulation of machining process and determination of kinematics of the tool electrode from the point of view of accuracy of required shape of workpiece. The last task is connected with inverse problem for ECM, which is defined as searching of motion and trajectory of tool electrode for obtaining the required shape of workpiece. The results of computer simulation and planning of motion is presented in the paper. Experimental results of shaping and verification are also discussed. Some examples of application of ECGM will be described.
