Abstract :
The development of a reliable monitoring technique for manufacturing process control is an essential step towards manufacturing automation and computer-integration pursuing high productivity of the system and quality of its products. In modern manufacturing industries such as the airplane, automobile and die/mold industries, high hardness material that is remarkable in respect of durability is effectively used. High-speed and precision machining technology has been applied in these fields. In this study, efficient sensors in high-speed machining were selected, by observing a similar tendency in comparing the cutting force with the acoustic emission signal, gap sensor signal and acceleration signal, and the machinability in high speed machining was evaluated experimentally. Basic research to monitor the machine tool and machining conditions was performed.
