Abstract
A powder processing technique is developed for the fabrication of a functionally gradient material obtained by different mixtures of nanocrystalline iron and as-received microcrystalline iron. The corrosive behavior of hot compacted nanocomposite iron in 0.5 M sulfuric acid media has been investigated by potentiodynamic test method. The obtained results revealed that an increase of nanocrystalline iron fraction improves the corrosion resistance in the iron nanocomposites.
