Research on a dispersed networked CAD/CAM system of motorcycle

Based on the concept of dispersed networked design and manufacturing, and on the principle of Web and CORBA technology, a multi-layer architecture for a dispersed networked CAD/CAM system (DNCADMS) of a motorcycle is presented in this paper. For solving the data sharing problem under a heterogeneous database environment, the concept of meta-database and a Java-based integrated mechanism for the dispersed native databases have been put forward. The ideas and some key techniques of implementing the DNCADMS are also discussed in the paper.
