Abstract :
Deformation, which results in the low precision of dimensions, is more likely to occur in the machining of thin-walled components. This paper applies the finite element method (FEM) to the quantitative analysis and calculation of the deformation of a typical thin-walled structure in the process of machining. The results from the analysis coincide with reality. According to the amount of deformation, some control stratagems can be developed to reduce the over-tolerance of thin walls due to machining deformation.
