Abstract
We tried to use the X-ray analytical microscope (XAM), which prove the material constituent element. In sulfuric acid aqueous solution, the degradation of fiber reinforced plastics (FRP) was evaluated by confirming the S element proven by XAM, which is a main component of sulfuric acid. As a result, the degradation was able to be evaluated only by the S element infiltration distance, it is not influenced by the temperature and the concentration of sulfuric acid aqueous solution and the test piece width. So it became that the degradation could be evaluated at early immersion time and low concentration of sulfuric acid aqueous though we could not confirm weight change and dimensional change at the environmental condition. We were sure that the S element infiltration distance is best degradation index.
