Abstract
We found out that a very thin, needle-like electrode was formed in single discharge with rather high discharge current. For the practical application of electrodes, we must control the shape of the electrode formed by this self-forming phenomenon in single discharge. We used the high-speed camera and the high-speed laser to observe the change of electrode shape at 64 μs interval. Results obtained by our previous one-image observation method and those by this new continuous imaging method are corresponded well. It is found that the electrode vibrates its eigen frequency by single discharge.
