Mechanical processing of Ag/BSCCO high temperature superconductor tape

The paper gives an overview of research at the authors’ department on the manufacturing of superconductors, especially Ag/BSCCO tape produced by the oxide-powder-in-tube method (OPIT). Studies include experimental optimisation of the drawing of single-filament wire as well as multi-filament wire introducing new stacking strategies in the multi-filament design, and optimisation of the flat rolling procedure adopting experimental as well as numerical methods.
