Optimization of shot peening parameters using Taguchi technique

Application of the Taguchi method to the optimization of the critical peening parameters is reported in this paper. The Taguchi method is used to formulate the experimental layout, to establish the order of predominance among the identified critical parameters and predict the optimal setting for each of the process parameters. The experimental results obtained confirm the adequacy and effectiveness of this approach.
