Abstract :
In this study, experiments of high-speed cutting and high-speed grinding have been carried out with an STD11 specimen under each condition for evaluating the grindability with designed and manufactured CBN grinding wheels. Machining parts were analyzed and evaluated. A ground surface roughness and a three-dimensional coordinate system have been used for analyzing the micro-surface integrity. A residual stress of the ground specimens has been measured in the near free surface of the X-ray diffraction. Also, the surface condition of ground specimens and the grinding wheels were evaluated by a metallurgical microscope and by an SEM system after high-speed grinding in order to choose the suitable machining conditions.
