Abstract
The method of acquisition of material data, which describes the kinetics of microstructure evolution, is presented in this paper. The obtained material data could be regarded as a ‘material genome’ as it gives us the basis of estimating microstructure evolution during hot forging or hot rolling. The material genome of high-alloyed steel such as Cr–Mo–V tool steel is newly obtained by a series of single and double compression tests, inverse analysis to obtain flow curves, micrography of compressed specimens and the regression analysis of coefficients in material data. Finally, the validity of the obtained material genome is demonstrated by the coupled simulation of plastic deformation and microstructure evolution.
