Abstract :
The enthalpies of solution have been measured for α-aminobutyric acid in LiCl, NaCl, KCl and NaBr aqueous solutions at 298.15 K. The enthalpic interaction parameters hxy, hxxy and hxyy of α-aminobutyric acid with these salts have been evaluated. Combining the previous studies for the enthalpic interaction parameters of glycine and α-alanine with alkali metal halides, the experimental results are discussed in view of electrostatic and structural interactions.
